Luis Calderon has not produced one bad coffee. Period. Luis Calderon’s farm, Villa Betulia, produces over 15 varieties. He has been collecting and buying seeds from Colombia and all over the world over the last 15 years. Luis is passionate about crossbreeding and has been growing new varieties like what makes up the majority of his farm, Maracaturra. The Maracaturra we had came and went so fast, we ordered 10 more bags from his current harvest. This coffee is special, with clear notes of strawberry and basil, and as it cools there are hints of melon and plum. It has a nice mouthfeel and great sweetness. This coffee comes to us by way of Know Where Coffee in partnership with CoTrade. We expect a couple of pallets of coffees from them in the next couple of months, just in time for some great holiday coffees.
